Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and MKM Software ("we," "us," or "our") governing your use of URL to QR — both the free QR code generator at url-to-qr.com and the optional paid tracking dashboard. By using either, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. The service

The free generator lets you create QR codes entirely in your browser, with no account and no data sent to a server. The paid dashboard additionally lets you create "tracked" QR codes — a short redirect link we host that forwards to a destination URL you choose, while recording scan counts and basic analytics (see our Privacy Policy for exactly what's collected).

2. Accounts

You need an account only for the tracking dashboard. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a valid email address and be legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use URL to QR — the generator or the tracking redirect service — to create, host, or redirect to content or destinations that:

• Are illegal, fraudulent, or facilitate phishing, malware distribution, or scams
• Infringe someone else's intellectual property or other legal rights
• Harass, defame, or threaten any person or group
• Attempt to disguise or "cloak" a malicious or deceptive destination behind a tracked link

We reserve the right to disable any tracked link or suspend any account we reasonably believe violates this section, without notice.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to the data you encode into QR codes and the destination URLs you set for tracked links. You're solely responsible for that content and for having the right to link to it. We don't review destination URLs before they go live.

5. Subscriptions and billing

• Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method each billing period.
• You can cancel or downgrade at any time from the billing portal; your current plan stays active through the end of the paid period, and no partial refunds are given for unused time.
• If your plan is downgraded or canceled and you have more active tracked links than your new quota allows, we'll automatically pause your newest links first until you're back within your limit.
• We may change prices going forward; we'll give notice before any change takes effect on your subscription.

6. Service availability

The free generator runs in your browser and doesn't depend on our servers being up. The tracking dashboard and redirect service depend on third-party infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) and are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MKM Software will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of — or inability to use — URL to QR, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MKM Software harmless from any claim, loss, or damage, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the service, your tracked links' destination content, or your violation of these Terms.

9. Termination

You can stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including the acceptable use rules in Section 3. Sections 4, 7, and 8 survive termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of URL to QR after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For the tracking dashboard, we keep a record of the date and version of these Terms you agreed to at signup.
